VolunteerSunny Crest Home offers opportunity to make a difference by working with those that experience some sort of physical or cognitive limitation.
|
Sunny Crest Home is a supportive, Christian living community. We foster independence, and those we serve benefit greatly from dedicated volunteers with a positive attitude who are eager to bring joy to the faces of residents.
Have a hobby you’d like to share, like cooking or art? We welcomes volunteers to offer their skills and build relationships. Your church, youth group, or community group can find ways to get involved at Sunny Crest Home. |
Ways to Serve
Empower others with mobility – drive residents to doctor appointments or simply to go out shopping or to eat at a nearby restaurant.
Expand someone’s horizon – read a book on a regular basis with a resident who is unable to read because of vision impairments or a learning disability.
Building lives together – people with special needs often welcome opportunities to help out in their communities. We encourage you to get involved in our “Stitches of Love” club where residents give back by making and donating comforts and baby hats to local homeless shelters as well as Christian Aid Ministry.
Opportunities to Care – write letters, send cards, or be a listening ear for our residents. Many residents are happy to share conversation about hobbies, current news, the Bible and how Christ is working in their lives.
Arts and special interest clubs – volunteers have led groups in activities like beading, loom weaving, caning and roping, quilting sewing, cooking, and more.
